HP had a busy week. They announced a slew of products just before the holiday shopping rush.

Two notebook PCs, the HDX16 and the HDX18, each promise high-def images, built-in TV tuners, Wi-Fi support and Blu-ray playback. The HDX16 ($1,299) has a 16-inch screen with a 720- or 1,080-pixel resolution display. The HDX18 ($1,549) is 18.4 inches, with a Ultra BrightView 1,080-pixel screen. Both features HP’s own MediaSmart technology, to display all of your entertainment in high-def.

HP had previously announced its TouchSmart PC. Now they are putting the technology into the TouchSmart IQ800 series PC, a second-gen line that allows you to smudge up the 25.5-inch diagonal screen to access all of your files, as well as watch TV, or crop and edit photos. The screen resolution is 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, and the unit includes Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor, a webcam and Blu-ray support. Available starting September 21, prices start at $1,899 for the HP TouchSmart IQ804, and $2,099 for the IQ816.

Other announcements included HP Digital Picture Frames, mice, keyboards, flash storage, and HP SimpleSave backup, to store music, video, photos and other files.
