Would you consider HP for your entertainment setup? Instead of waffling, it looks like the company expects to be considered a number one choice—thanks to the MediaSmart line.

Just announced, the HP MediaSmart Receiver is a set-top box that turns any TV into a “connected” TV. That means you can stream photos, music and videos—no DVD though. It can be used wired or wirelessly, and with multiple PCs. Aside from connectivity for 802.11a, b, g and n, it also features DivX support.

HP also has a new slew of MediaSmart TVs. Each promise 1080p, built-in Windows Media Center features, three HDMI ports and the option of either wireless or wired network connectivity. They are also touting CinemaNow, which would allow owners to download movies right to the set.

Finally, for those that love to hoard digital files, the Media Vault mv2100 and mv5100 series provide additional, expandable storage for the growing media master. The mv2100 has 500GB for the home, with the mv5100 providing up to 1.5TB for small business owners. Each boasts Photo Webshare and iTunes support.

Last, but not least, HP says that the Extender for Windows Media Center, which they announced in 2007, will finally be available—along with the rest of the new products—in the spring. Check out photos of each product in the slideshow.
