You’ve got your game face; now it’s time to outfit the rest of the setup. Last year, Sony started shipping the biggest piece of the video game puzzle: a PlayStation-branded monitor. That said, the $499 MSRP probably reserved the set for only the most rabid gamers.

Now, it looks like a few others may be able to build a gaming setup around this cool little 3D-capable monitor. For a limited time, is selling the Sony PlayStation 24-inch 3D Display Monitor for just $289.99. This is 42 percent off the list price, and even includes free shipping.

Designed for smaller gaming environments, the 24-inch 1080p TV uses active 3D technology to deliver in-your-face gaming action. It comes with one pair of glasses, the MotorStorm Apocalypse Blu-ray game and an HDMI cable. Just add a PlayStation 3 and you’ll be ready to shut off the outside world for a good day or three.

The PS TV also has something called SimulView, a two-player feature that provides each player with their own full (2D) HD screen while wearing the 3D glasses for the 3D Display. Both players are going to need glasses (extras are about $70), as well as a SimulView-specific game.

Other features include Edge LED backlighting, a 240Hz refresh rate, an integrated subwoofer, two HDMI 1.4 inputs, one component cable input, and a stereo headphone output.

There’s no word on how long this deal will last, but consider snagging one of these sets soon. says that the item is extremely limited and the discount will only be available while supplies last.
