A few weeks ago, Sling Media announced plans for a pair of new Slingbox products. Now, it looks like retailers want to make a little space for the new stock, offering an older model at a discount.
We found JR.com selling the Slingbox SOLO for just $98, which is $80 off the $178 list price. However, if you use the coupon code SPOOKY during your checkout, that cost will come down another $5. That makes this purchase just $93, which also includes free shipping right to your front door.
It also includes the Slingbox, which allows you to take your home TV lineup just about anywhere. Once the box is hooked up to your home system, you can stream standard-def and HD content from your home base to any web-enabled PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone.
Out of town or out of the country? You can catch your local sports, news, and even stream recorded shows from your DVR for the kids. There are a few products and service providers offering similar technology now. However, if you haven’t tapped into this type of service yet, it’s hard to pass up this discount.
Just remember to use the above coupon code if you want to get the absolute lowest price on this product. However, you’d better do it soon. The coupon will expire on October 31, 2012, or whenever the retailer runs out of stock.
