We’re looking forward to a very happy holiday season. Of course, some people are going to be happier than others. It’s sort of hard not to get excited when you get a brand-new HDTV, and we’ve been seeing some really great deals so far this season.
For instance, we just found Woot selling the 42-inch Sharp LC-42LE540U 1080p LED TV for $540. This is 46 percent off the brand-new HDTV; it’s not a refurbished model or anything. Because it’s a Woot deal, you need to factor in another five bucks to have it delivered, but we think that fee is worth skipping the hassle of having to squeeze the TV into your car.
The LC-42LE540U is one of Sharp’s Aquos HDTVs. That means it has a full 1080p HD image, edge-lit LED backlighting, four HDMI inputs, and built-in WiFi. The latter is very helpful, since it allows viewers to easily tap into the SmartCentral interface. That’s Sharp’s web-based platform, which allows for instant access to Netflix, VUDU, YouTube, and much more. There’s even live tech support via the on-screen Aquos Advantage Live service.
Unlike most Woot deals, this one is actually going for longer than 24 hours. According to the website, this offer is good through Wednesday, December 12 at 9:00 a.m. (CT)—or whenever the retailer runs out of stock!
