The weekend is the perfect time for a movie marathon—assuming you have the right equipment in your home theater setup. If you’re still suffering with a small (ish) HDTV, now would be the perfect time to upgrade.
Dell has Samsung’s 51-inch PN51D550 1080p plasma HDTV listed for just $897.99. That price is about $402 off the list price and also includes two pairs of 3D glasses, so you can check out those features right out of the box.
This one doesn’t have any web-based features. However, that can be easily added with a 3D Blu-ray player, which you are probably going to want to enjoy all of the 3D goodies. In the meantime, however, this makes for a great 2D TV.
Besides a full 1080p HD image, this plasma also includes 600Hz subfield motion technology, a fast .001ms response time, and the ConnectShare Movie feature for adding in content from a USB stick. The set also has Samsung’s Plus One design, which promises more screen and less bezel.
Also, if you want the 51-inch set for your main home theater setup, there are plenty of connection options. The PN51D550 has four HDMI ports, two component options, a PC input, and one USB port.
This is a very good deal on a very nice 3D TV. Also, at last peek, Dell was also throwing in free shipping on this purchase.
