When it comes to audio, it’s OK to start small. A lot of people build those sound systems one piece at a time. However, Newegg is making it easy to excel your audio upgrade, with a new deal on a center-channel speaker.

Newegg currently has the Polk Audio CS2 Series II Center Channel Speaker listed for $149.99. This is $150 off the list price of this speaker, and the lowest we’ve seen—sort of. If you add in the coupon code EMCJHHD73, the price drops another $50. That makes your final cost just $99.99. (Technically, it’s $102.99, since the retailer is charging $2.99 for shipping.)

Know that this coupon expires today (January 3, 2012), so you’d better start shopping if you want to get the full discount.

Polk’s CS2 has two 6.5-inch Bi-Laminate composite dynamic balance drivers and a 1-inch Fabric/Polymer Composite Dynamic Balance Dome Tweeter with Neodymium magnet structure. Both of those features promise realistic reproduction of vocals and instruments, which is what you want in a center-channel speaker!

Other features include a non-resonant all-MDF enclosure construction with 3/4-inch-thick baffles and a tuned flared port. It’s also magnetically-shielded, for placement near an HDTV.

Don’t forget to use the EMCJHHD73 coupon code to get the full discount. Just remember that it does expire today—or as soon as Newegg runs out of stock.
