The new buzzword is AirPlay. A lot of manufacturers are trying to squeeze Apple’s technology into new product releases—and with good reason. AirPlay allows users to stream iTunes from a computer or music from an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch directly to the AirPlay-enabled device.
A variety of manufacturers are putting out receivers and stand-alone devices with AirPlay inside. Today, you can have one of those units quite cheaply. Woot has the Pioneer AirPlay Music Tap System on sale for just $179.99. The list price on this tabletop unit is $399, making this a nice deal. Just know that you’ll need to kick in an extra $5 to have it shipped.
Besides having AirPlay features, this 2-channel Music Tap has built-in WiFi, so you can stream music anywhere in the house. It can even be connected to the TV, so you can view album artwork and song info on the larger screen.
Other highlights include a 2.5-inch full-color LCD screen, FM radio, DLNA 1.5 and vTuner Internet Radio features, and support for Bluetooth (via the optional AS-BT200 adapter).
Just know that this is a one-day discount, so the deal will end today (Wednesday, April 4, 2012)—or whenever Woot runs out of stock!
