Honeywell Lynx Touch 5200 Security System Has Voice and Live VOD
The new panel puts two-way voice and live, IP video-on-demand directly on the touchscreen.

Sometimes we need our electronics to multitask. Honeywell is putting a few additional features into its latest security product, the Lynx Touch 5200.

The new all-in-one security control panel provides access to Honeywell’s security features, but also allows users to view live, IP video-on-demand directly on the panel’s 4.7-inch vivid color touchscreen. The system can support single-camera viewing when using Honeywell Total Connect video products (like the iPCAM-PT, iPCAM-WO, iPCAM-WI2/B and ACU). By adding in the Honeywell Lynx Connect app, users can also tap into live feeds and control the system from anywhere on premises via any iOS or Android device—even without a Honeywell Total Connect account.

Besides the typical two-way voice over GSM, Honeywell has added two-way voice over Wi-Fi features. This option makes connectivity easier and saves time (and money!) on the installation.

Other features include support for Z-Wave smart lights and flood sensors, a Night Stay Arming Mode for interior sensors, and a new sunrise/sunset option that can trigger lighting scenes on a seasonal basis.

“Incorporating video right on the touchscreen helps dealers elevate their connected home offering and provide an unrivaled user experience—right out of the box,” said Robert Puric, marketing director at Honeywell Security Products Americas. “By delivering integrated, economical, on-demand video—along with innovations like two-way voice over Wi-Fi—Lynx Touch 5200 truly takes the all-in-one system to the next level.”
