Early this fall, we were talking up HomeSeer’s plans for Android control. All of that talk has finally become a real app—and it’s available now.
Just announced, the HSTouch Android app is a fully customizable graphical interface that can put HomeSeer control into the hands of any Android user. It’s compatible with all HomeSeer home automation systems, and will run on any touchscreen, including in-walls and handhelds, as well as tablet and stand-alone devices.
This latest app allows for customized backgrounds, buttons and graphics. There’s also an integrated RSS browser, which can provide news, weather, and other info that you need to have at a glance.
HSTouch is IP-enabled, which makes it perfect for monitoring and controlling a first, second or third home, even when you’re away from home. It’s also a nice feature for installers, who can use this program to create or edit projects from a remote location. Aside from Android, HSTouch is also compatible with Windows, Windows CE, Linux, the iPhone, iPod touch, and the iPad.
HomeSeer systems are compatible with leading manufacturers, as well as technologies such as Z-Wave, UPB and Insteon. The HSTouch Android client is available now in the Android Market. Check out the quick video walkthrough below.
