Home Theater Entryways Offer Curb Appeal
It's always important to make a good first impression.

What’s the first thing you show guests when offering a tour of your home theater? The door, of course?

No, I don’t mean that you kick them out (more popcorn for you). I’m referring to the grand entrance to your private screening room. While big screens, deep subwoofers and reclining seats all play major roles in an impressive home theater, it’s the entryway that first sets the stage—or at least it should.

Too often the entryway into a home theater is just a door to the basement (I’m looking in the mirror here), but why would you spend a lot of time and money on an impressive experience room and then skimp on the very threshold of it? Think of the entryway as the curb appeal part of the room. Does you theater entrance have curb appeal to match the sound and picture inside?

Here is a selection of some impressive home theater entryways we’ve encountered in our coverage of magical media rooms. Some are grand enough to pass for commercial lobbies, while others are just quirky expressions of the theater’s own (and owner’s) character.

Several of these entryways come from Home of the Year Winners in our Home Theater categories.

I hope these inspire you to jazz up your own theater door.
