Can you say casita? If you live in a sunny climate, you better be able to say it, learn it, be it. Because you, too, can ‘casita’ all your home entertainment pleasures.
This backyard, for example, has become a major entertainment area for its homeowners, thanks to this open-air casita. Audio/video company Simply Sight & Sound installed a 50-inch Panasonic plasma TV over the stone fireplace. On the plasma screen, the homeowners can view video from their Denon DVD player, high-definition programming from their DirecTV receiver, or view their computer screen. Two Niles DS Series speakers provide sound for the front channels, while a Triad InWall Bronze Power Subwoofer and two Niles 8-Series speakers are used for the rear speakers.
A Denon surround receiver housed in an equipment rack provides the brains for this outdoor entertainment system.
Also in the casita is a location where the homeowners can control their Niles ZR-4630 audio system. Simply Sight & Sound set up four zones in the backyard for music. This way, during their sports parties all guests can hear the action and watch from a distance.
The remainder of the backyard consists of a Jacuzzi and pool. There is a dedicated music zone for the Jacuzzi, which has a great view for watching the plasma at night.
