Gold Winner:
TV Lift Built into Wood Floor
The owners of this beautifully designed contemporary master bedroom had nearly given up on having a TV in their room. “They didn’t really like the idea of having to look off to the side to see the screen,” says Frank Palazzetti of Audio Video Excellence in Pleasantville, NY. Attaching a flat screen over the fireplace was an option, but that was also nixed.

Silver Winner:
Bedroom Features His and Hers A/V Systems
How many times has this happened: You want to watch your favorite show or a great movie in the bedroom, but Honey Bunny either wants to sleep or watch something you have no interest in. A North Carolina couple with irreconcilable viewing differences got around this marital problem with an innovative his-and-hers audio/video system.

Bronze Winner:
Clunky Media Center Makes Way for Classy A/V
An 8-foot entertainment unit that houses a 50-inch rear-projection TV doesn’t exactly scream elegance. (It doesn’t even whisper elegance.) So when Audio Input was hired to help remodel this Joplin, MO, home’s master suite, the wall of A/V was the first thing to go.

This waterfront master suite has a great view -- and it overlooks a lake too.
