If buying a multi-functional smartphone is on your to-do list, you might want to wait a few months.
Apple, Google, Palm and RIM are all planning to release new phones starting in June.
Here’s a quick look at what’s coming, courtesy of the Silicon Valley Insider:
Palm (Sprint) - Promised the Pre by end of June with an estimated cost of $200 with two-year contract.
Apple (AT&T) - New iPhone announcement expected in early June with possible July availability. Could Apple drop price to $99?
RIM (Verizon) - Rumored to launch a new Blackberry in the coming months.
Google (T-mobile) - Speculation that scheduled T-Mobile event for May might reveal new Android-based phone or new Sidekick.
And there’s always the chance prices on older models will drop with these summer releases.
I sent all the HTc Touch pro’s and Touch Diamonds back to Sprint. We opted for the Treo pro 850 instead. the HTc phones were buggy with Windows, Treo runs so smooth, no glitchy things happen wit hit, no crashes or rebooting of the phone like I had with the HTC Touch Pro. The keyboard is on the fromn of the phone, no pullout needed, and i can still use the softkeybaord if I want. I visied each Touch pro, and Touch Diamond user, one at a time with a Treo 850 in my hand. I told them how their Touch worked and reminded them of what it does. I knoew it all because I had one and I supported them for a month before I started sending them back. Each prson who saw my Treo 850, told me to get them one. feedback after the switch was all 100% great. the Treo made me look good on the job. cell phones is only one smll part of my job within my company, but it is an area that I take very seriously, just like managing the servers, security, email, and SPAM.
No love for WinMo? The Touch Pro 2 will come out around the same time as most of the phones mentioned.
TODAY we offer a dual mode UNLOCKED GSM / WLAN (with a VOIP line)! So, you do not have to wait. Funny, I used Treos for 7 years before I got my first HTC device (yep, that means I even had the very first Treo, the 180, back when they were still Handspring). Personally, I like not having the keyboard on the front anymore, considering it means I have a much bigger screen instead.
My point was just that they touched upon all the other major smartphone OS versions but WinMo.
