Harman Kardon Wants You to Stream Audio to Circular Speakers
The Nova stereo speaker system features Bluetooth and support for NFC.

We’ve seen a lot of wireless speakers. Some work alone and some work in pairs. However, we can safely say that none of them are sold in pairs—circular pairs, anyway.

Harman Kardon is standing out with its newly announced Nova Stereo Streaming System. Like Harman’s Onyx, this setup is circular, but it comes with two compact enclosures to enhance audio from laptops, desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices.

Each Nova speaker is packed with 2.5-inch drivers, 1.25-inch tweeters and Harman Kardon’s own Digital Signal Processing.

It’s also got the power to be paired with pretty much any device. It has Bluetooth for wireless streaming, NFC for a simple setup, and analog and optical inputs for use with HDTVs and set-top boxes like Roku and Apple TV.

Other features include a passive radiator with a turbine enclosure and a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz. The set also works with the Harman Kardon Remote app, which is free via iTunes and the Google Play Store.

“Say hello to the next generation of hi-fi and say goodbye to complexity and clutter,” said Michael Mauser, president of Harman Lifestyle. “We put serious audio reproduction and staging into a unique sculptural enclosure that most people will not recognize as a speaker system at all. Harman Kardon Nova is an object of art that fills your room with great sound.”

Harman Kardon is selling the Nova Stereo Streaming Sound System now, with an MSRP of $299.
