Halcro’s SSP220 includes support for 1080p video and 7.1-channel surround sound.
Halcro has come a long way, baby!
The latest to entice A/V enthusiasts is the SSP220, the company’s third generation SSP processor. We say “enthusiasts” because most consumers probably won’t want to drop $12K on this baby, but they don’t deserve it!
VP Jesse Walsh says that the company spent many months revamping the software and pumping up the unit’s performance. Features include 1080p video support, the ability to play music and/or video in two different rooms, auto calibration of speaker levels and distances, and 7.1-channel audio that will blow the hair off your head. It also includes four HDMI and four component inputs, but only one each for HDMI and component outputs.
Of course, Halcro says the unit goes nicely with its MC multi-channel amplifier line and the EC800 SACD/CD/DVD/MP3 player. Start counting more than just pennies—the SSP220 surround sound processor should ship by the end of this week.
