Need to flip on the lights? You don’t need to be upstairs, in the house, or even in the country.

HAI says they are now shipping its WL3 product, a new software add-on that works with Windows Home Server to provide access to your HAI home control system from any web browser. That means you can peek in on your property, turn on lights and air conditioning from a computer, PDA, Blackberry, iPhone, or other web-enabled device. The company first announced the product earlier this summer.

If you want to keep an eye on things, the WL3 software can automatically configure supported UpnP IP cameras on your home network, or you can manually do other IP cameras. No matter what cameras you use, all feeds will look consistent in the WL3 format. You can also record video or get event emails or text messages.

WL3 is completely customizable, which is no surprise to happy HAI owners everywhere. If you’re one of those, and you want to add this software, you’ll need an Ethernet-enabled HAI home control system, a Windows Home Server, $329, and the number of an HAI distributor/dealer.
