Are you ready to rock your phone? Hands-On Mobile has teamed with Activision to take your “Guitar Hero” addiction on the road.

Guitar Hero III: Backstage Pass” offers more than 25 hours of tiny gaming on select cell phones. Combining a bit of “Sims” action with the “Guitar Hero” franchise, players can assume the identities of Axel Steel or Judy Nails (metal!). From there, you promote your band and music on the TV and radio, create demos, sign contracts, handle press, and single out groupies. OK—the latter is not true, but it’s a neat, new twist on the existing “Guitar Hero” empire.

Once you achieve your career goals, you’ll actually get to rock, by unlocking various guitars or earning money to buy equipment. The game even has its own community, where players can swap success stories, wager in-game money, and more.

“Guitar Hero III: Backstage Pass” is available now on select carriers nationwide.

Is it Guitar Hero or the Backstage Pass? The GH app has been available for a while. However, the Backstage Pass version is supposed to be new.
