We’ve seen gaming chairs with built-in controllers and speakers. However, Playseat America is ditching the bells and whistles, to put you right in the driver’s seat.
The Washington-based company just announced the Forza 4 Revolution Playseat, a limited-edition gaming chair that looks more like it was pulled from a race car. The chair doesn’t have any speakers or other vibrations, but it does include an adjustable spot for your steering wheel, pedal support, and official Forza 4 branding.
Overall, the chair seems pretty authentic. If you have a racing fan at home, it supports Xbox, Wii and PlayStation consoles, as well as a variety of third-party accessories, such as the MadCatz wireless wheel, Fanatec’s CSR/CSR Elite/Porsche wheel, Club Sport Pedals, and more.
Also, once you cross the finish line, you don’t need to park this thing in the middle of your living room. It has a removable seat back and base cushions, as well as a patented fold-down system, for easy storage.
Expect the Forza 4 Playseat to be available this month. Playseat hasn’t announced pricing yet, but says they will ship the seat for free from now through January 1, 2012. Amazon has it listed for $599.99, with a ship date of October 18.
