Comcast’s Triple Play, now with a free Wii
July 28, 2008 | by Arlen Schweiger

Can’t find a Nintendo Wii on any store shelves near you? Sign up for Comcast’s Triple Play service and get a Wii free.

The cable provider announced Monday that between now and August 17, new subscribers to the Comcast Preferred Plus or Premier Triple Play package will get a complimentary Wii system.

In case you’re not sure what package qualifies, here’s what Comcast says: “Comcast Preferred Plus and Premier Triple Play packages include: Comcast Digital Cable with On Demand and premium channels; Comcast Digital Voice, offering unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling and 12 popular calling features plus enhanced voicemail, and; Comcast High-Speed Internet with PowerBoost, providing some of the fastest download speeds available today.”

You have to sign up for a two-year contract to be eligible for the free Wii. There’s an asterisked fine print as well, of course, which says “Triple Play package availability and offers vary by market. Total number of Wii systems is limited.”

In other words, maybe it’s better to try for the deal on July 29 than on August 17 if you don’t want to get shut out of a Wii.
