Some remotes take a lot of abuse. Now GE wants to be that punching bag, offering a “My Favorites” controller for a mere $20.
The image of the My Favorites Remote gives the illusion of a customized LCD. However, it’s just a bunch of little stickers you can use to tag some of your favorite channels for one-touch access. Users can customize eight programmable buttons for a personalized look. It looks cool, but we have to wonder how many sticky hands or spilled drinks it will take to wipe out those little logos.
Surrounding the logos are buttons for easy access to record, play, pause, advance and rewind features.
Considering the cost, the unit looks pretty slick. However, we don’t expect to get too crazy with this controller—stickers and all. Still, it will handle up to five of your favorite devices, and could be a nice option if you are wearing out the buttons on your current remote and don’t want to invest too much.
