Out of the Game and Into Theater
This family wanted to ditch their game room and create a killer home theater.
August 08, 2007 | by Rachel Cericola

Homeowner Jim Stadt hired Jeff Crigler of Look & Listen to design and install a high performance home theater in his converted game room.

Stadt, a huge movie fan, wanted a system that would operate easily, but also accommodate his large movie collection. He was also very concerned about creating an aesthetically pleasing movie theater atmosphere without compromising audio and video performance.

Utilizing a Control4 system controller, a 10.5-inch colored wireless touchscreen, an in-wall mini touch, and two Sony 400-disc DVD changers, Look & Listen provided the homeowners with simplified and extremely functional solution while maintaining a high-performance home theater experience.

Custom-designed acoustically transparent masking was installed in this angular and challenging space to conceal the high-performance front speakers, while creating a movie-theater look and feel. Custom-designed acoustic panels were manufactured and installed to resolve major room reflection issues, while complimenting the unique architectural lines in this former game room.

Bright red Premiere HTS home-theater seating accents the Stadts’ theater room, which includes a killer 98-inch Vutec SilverStar projection screen.
