Fusion Research Introduces Ovation Wireless Audio Distribution System
The new high-quality music system includes a total of three products.

Having a distributed/multiroom audio system is a wonderful thing. Having to wire up that system? Not so much.

That’s probably why Fusion Research opted to go wireless with its Ovation Wireless Audio Distribution System. The newly announced system includes three products: a Base Station that acts as the server, as well as one amplified player and one passive player.

The Base Station (FR-OBS) does need to be hardwired to your home network. It includes one analog source and support for up to 16 Ovation players. Each one of those players connects via Wi-Fi and can be treated as individual sources. However, there’s also a “Party Mode” for playing the same music throughout the house.

The FR-OWP2 is the passive player, which requires amplification. The FR-WA50 player has a 50Wx2 amp built in, so it can be instantly paired with in-wall/ceiling speakers. Both include Burr-Brown DACs to support 24/96 HD tracks and 192kHz/24-bit output.

“We’ve had this on our radar screen for a long time,” said Ingo Schmoldt, VP of sales. “Whole-home audio distribution utilizing an audio matrix switch is fine for new construction, but this product really opens up how integrators will be able to build systems in places where running wire is just not feasible.”

The Ovation Wireless Audio Distribution System has two-way drivers for most major home automation systems, including RTI, Elan g!, Savant, Control4, AMX and Crestron. (URC support is also expected soon.) For purchase information and pricing, contact Fusion Research to find a dealer/installer in your area.
