It may be too late in the season to hit the surf, but those with access to an indoor pool could be doing cannonballs to the beat of their own Soundwave.
The Soundwave is actually a waterproof MP3 player from Freestyle Audio. It can withstand those dives, chicken fights, and other water/horseplay—up to 10 feet under water. While you are flailing around the pool, you won’t miss a beat either; the unit has a shock-resistant design for skip-free playback.
Supporting MP3, WMA and DRM files, the unit has 2GB of flash memory for up to 600 songs. It’s even compatible with subscription music services, such as iTunes and Napster. That’s a whole lot of laps.
Other features include a color OLED screen for track info, an FM tuner, and a built-in rechargeable battery. It also comes with waterproof earbuds that feature three different sized earplugs designed to keep sound in and water out.
Freestyle’s Soundwave is available now, starting at $90.
