After my last laptop went to the great repair shop in the sky, I lost one of my favorite programs: Photoshop. Since I was lucky enough to gain that little perk from a former employer, I was basically left to spend $500 to crop photos.

I had tried other freebie programs from the web, but nothing had the same magic. Now others won’t be as clueless—Adobe has launched a free version of the popular program.

Adobe’s Photoshop Express is free, but it’s also online. Gizmodo says the Flash 9-powered program is easy to use, but it also sounds pretty stripped down. What do you want for nothing?

The free account allows users to crop, resize, edit colors, and take out red-eye. It also gets you 2GB of free storage, and can sync with Facebook. Not too shabby.

Adobe Photoshop Express is available now, in beta.
