By the end of the year, Fluid Digital will ship its servers with Microsoft’s Media Center TV Pack 2008.
If you’re going to bother to invest in a media server, you want it to be a one-stop media machine. Fluid Digital realizes this, so they will soon add additional TV functionality, via Microsoft’s Media Center TV Pack 2008.
“We’re excited about delivering even more value to our customers with native support for four digital cable tuners, an enhanced electronic program guide, and the ability to share non-protected digital cable content across PlayReady-enabled PCs and portable media devices,” says Chris Morley, Fluid Digital’s executive VP.
Aside from four digital cable tuner support, the company says they will be able to integrate additional Clear QAM tuners “in a heterogeneous manner.” That means they can remap channels to various tuners, as necessary.
Fluid Digital Media Servers will begin shipping with the Media Center TV pack in Q4 of 2008. The units are sold exclusively via a dealer network.
