“Firefly - The Complete Series” will have all of the show’s original 14 episodes in HD.
Fans of ”Firefly” must have been extra good this year. Fox just announced that Joss Whedon’s sci-fi series will be available on Blu-ray in time for the holiday shopping season.
“Firefly - The Complete Series” will include all 14 episodes in HD, as well as a “Firefly Reunion” and episode commentary. Other extras include a few featurettes, deleted scenes, a gag reel, and Alan Tudyk’s audition tape. Each of the dual-layer 50GB discs feature widescreen 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The 3-disc set will retail for $90.
Part sci-fi, part western, “Firefly” focuses on the Serenity, a transport ship without a home planet. The crew includes Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, and Ron Glass. The show was a cult hit, much like Whedon’s other foray into TV, ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” (He also has Fox’s “Dollhouse” coming this fall.)
“Firefly - The Complete Series” will be available on Blu-ray on November 11.

How is *7 seasons* of Buffy the Vampire Slayer only “slightly larger” than 14 episodes of Firefly? Once again we have someone trying to diminish the impact and importance of BtVS.
