I’ll have a blue, blue blue Bluetooth Christmas….At least that’s what the folks at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group are hoping. The organization held a holiday preview in New York this week to show new Bluetooth products that will be available for the holiday sales season.
Displayed among the usual fare of Bluetooth earpieces and computer peripherals were the following new and notables:
Vroop Liveboard: A scoreboard that shows live scores and on-base information for your favorite Major League Baseball team. The tabletop device pulls in info from a PC up to 60 feet away. Price: $199.
The BlueAnt Supertooth3 hands-free speakerphone: The Supertooth3 mounts to the car visor and announces the caller’s name or number. You answer the call just by saying “ok.” Price: $129.
Plantronics Discovery 925 Earpiece: Elegant design with tiny stylish cases to match in ruby red, gold and black. Earpiece recharges in case. Price: $129.
Parrot Party: Speaker system streams music from an MP3 player or cell phone. Bluetooth devices pair up by tapping player to top of speakers using NFC (near-field communication) eliminating the need for setup. No price yet.
Gold Lantern Bluetooth Digital Picture Frame: 15-inch frame shows pictures from memory cards or via Bluetooth from a camera phone. Built-in 1-gigabyte memory stores camera phone pics. Price: $299.
LG HFB-500 Speakerphone Car Kit: Hands-free device offers solar charging option—3 hours charge time yields 30 minutes of talk time. Price: $99.
iHome iP47 iPhone/iPod Alarm Clock Radio Speakerphone: Docks, plays and charges your iPhone, receives and makes iPhone calls, and streams music from the iPhone or PDA. Use the remote control to dial a call. Price: $199.
