If you’re looking to simplify your A/V setup and get into the projection game, Epson is offering a high-def option on sale this week.

Good through Feb. 2, the company’s MovieMate 72 unit is available for $1,049, with free ground shipping, after an instant $150 rebate on its Epson.com website.

The 720p projector throws an 80-inch image from 6.5 feet away and a 120-inch image from 12 feet from the screen, Epson says.

It features three-chip 3LCD technology for a bright picture, and the swiveling base makes it easy to load DVDs and CDs. Though the specs don’t call it an upconverting player, Epson says it “enhances standard DVDs.”

You can also connect other high-def sources, like a PlayStation 3 or HD DVD player, for example, via HDMI for more high-resolution options.
