The smart thermostat market is heating up again! Emerson has decided to get in on the action, by introducing Sensi, the company’s first Wi-Fi thermostat.
While there are a lot of competitors out there, Emerson is hoping that consumers will be drawn to the company’s experience in the industry.
Also, the Sensi is very easy to use. It can replace any existing thermostat, but does require two AA batteries. Once installed, Sensi can provide remote access via a smartphone, tablet or PC. The compatible Sensi app can walk users through the installation and offers remote control, as well as options for setting up an energy saving schedule.
“We are really excited about this product today, but maybe more so about the potential it brings our business in the future,” said Ed Purvis, executive vice president at Emerson. “We are already working with partners to develop an Application Programming Interface (API) for energy management solutions, and see this as just a piece of a larger connected home platform for Emerson Climate Technologies.”
According to Emerson, Sensi is the first Wi-Fi thermostat to meet the new Energy Aware standards requiring +/- one degree accurate temperature control. It’s available now, via Emerson’s professional HVAC wholesale and contractor network.
