Sonance is known for its in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers, but the company has entered the soundbar market with its new SB46 M and SB46 L soundbars.
The new passive LCR soundbars include Sonance’s latest loudspeaker technologies, industrial designs, and a sizing system that enables the soundbars to match the dimensions of TVs.
Sonance says the SB46 M and SB46 L use three-channel designs that include 1-inch aluminum tweeters, dual 4-inch Nomex midrange drivers, and dual 4.5-inch hybrid woofers. Sonance says the driver array is engineered to deliver clear dialog, defined channel separation and a wide soundstage.
Externally, the soundbars feature aircraft-grade extruded aluminum and powder-coated perforated steel. Sonance says it styled the soundbars with simple lines and a satin-back finish to complement the appearance of most TVs. The SB46 M is compatible with TVs ranging from 50 inches to 65 inches, and the SB46 L is compatible with TVs ranging from 70 inches to 80 inches.
Both soundbars’ depth measures under three inches, and they ship complete with hardware for VESA display mount compliance.
“We are extremely excited to be entering the soundbar market,” says Chris Easter, product manager, Sonance. “Our exclusive patent-pending adjustable width design will eliminate long lead times commonly associated with custom manufacturing and [it will] reduce the risk of being stuck with an incompatible product should the display change between ordering and installation. This feature will also allow the installer to adjust the width of the soundbar in the future when the client upgrades their display.”
The SB46 M will carry an MSRP of $1,750, and the SB46 L will carry an MSRP of $2,000.
