Over the past year or so, one of the best home theater and multimedia A/V system trends to develop has been the advancements made to projectors’ lamp lives and brightness capabilities. These developments are enabling dealers to place projectors in locations that were previously unfriendly to two-piece, projection-based video systems.
As good as these technologies are becoming, however, there are circumstances in which there is a need for complete light control and products like the newly announced LightBloc ZIP motorized shade from Draper.
Introduced at CEDIA Expo 2015, the LightBloc ZIP combines Draper’s standard Motorized LightBloc FlexShade and its FlexShade Zip that was just introduced about a year ago. Draper explains the LightBloc ZIP has been developed for interior applications through its inclusion of room darkening fabric, a headbox and side and sill channels to provide dealers with a complete blackout solution to darken rooms.
Draper points out that its latest shade product features side channels that are only 1 3/4-inches wide and the company’s zip design that prevents the shade’s fabric from leaking out of the side channels.
The Ind.-based company adds some of the shades other benefits include its availability in a choice of sizes ranging up to 12 feet x 12 feet, and a choice of opaque and room-darkening materials to help the shades blend into just about any room environment.
