Getting AV signals from point A to point B isn’t a thrilling process. It’s also not always an easy process. You can’t always have equipment placed near those big screens — and a lot of times, you just don’t want the clutter. To send those signals to far away places within a home, you’re going to need something like an HDMI extender.
Atlona just started shipping its latest HDMI extenders, with a ton of interesting features. The AT-HDTX transmitter and AT-HDRX receiver can transmit 1080p content up to 230 feet. Designed for moderately-priced home theaters, this package includes HDBaseT-Lite and can send audio, video and even IR control over a single category cable.
Because both products have Power over Category Cable (PoCc), you don’t need a separate power supply for the receiver. Other features include locking HDMI and USB firmware update ports, support for resolutions up to UltraHD (4Kx2K), and CEC pass-through. Of course, the pair can also do 3D, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD audio signals.
“Our newest family of extenders takes video beyond the technical limits of standard HDMI,” said Steve Heintz, senior product manager at Atlona. “With their advanced HDBaseT technology and inexpensive field-terminated cabling, these units are the perfect solution for reliably extending signals over a single category cable in home theater systems of all sizes.”
