It’s always nice when two manufacturers team up to make home control a little easier. That’s the idea behind Elk’s new ELK-M1XSLZW.
This Z-Wave pathway product doesn’t have a catchy name. However, it works in conjunction with Leviton’s VRC0P-1LW (vizia rf+3) module and the ELK M1 Cross Platform Control. From there, you can access a whole lot of Z-Wave certified products, including wireless locks from Black and Decker (Kwikset), Yale and Schlage.
According to Elk Products, the M1 can send and receive commands from Z-Wave devices both locally and remotely. In other words, you can adjust lighting, thermostats, and more.
“We are pleased our serial interface enabled ELK to develop their advanced Z-Wave interface, which will now provide access to Leviton lighting controls and automation products as well as other Z-wave partners including Black and Decker and Schlage,” says Amanda Mancuso, Leviton’s residential automation product manager.
Elk Products is currently selling the ELK-M1XSLZW through all authorized Elk distributors.
