You’ve heard of motorized screens that drop down from the ceiling or a mount. You’ve heard of plasma screens that pop up out of custom cabinets or bed footboards. Combine the concepts and you’ve got the Raptor projection screen from Elite Screens.

The screen, which comes in sizes of 72, 84 or 100 diagonal inches and 16:9 aspect ratio, is an electric floor-rising screen that stays hidden in a typical furniture cabinet. With flexibility always at issue when it comes to housing screens, here’s another option for you.

The screen is available with Elite’s MaxWhite FG fiberglass-backed material, with 1.1 gain so it’ll give you plenty of brightness and versatility for your room.

Furniture finish options come in matte black or cherry wood surfaces, and a tubular motor drives the cross-rising lift mechanism. A built-in 5-12V trigger for drop/rise sync with your projector’s power cycle comes with the unit, and IR and RF receivers allow for wireless operation—an RF remote and a ZR800D IR universal remote are included.

The Raptor will be out in September for $3,999 and includes a two-year manufacturer’s limited warranty. Now there’s no excuse when you’re significant other says there’s no way you’re getting a projection screen in the bedroom or living room—and hey, you get a piece of furniture too.
