There are many types of products that go into making a home smarter and more efficient, convenient and comfortable. There are remote control and programmable thermostats, motorized shades and video displays, automated lighting and surveillance cameras, just to name a few of the devices that can be installed into a home. Many times, a custom electronics (CE) pro will recommend the products you and your home need after a thorough analysis of your family’s lifestyle and expectations. However, it never hurts to know a something about the types of technologies he might suggest.
Electronic House’s annual Product Guide, slated for the September 2011 issue, is intended to provide the information you need make informed buying decisions. Say you’re in the market for a remote that can operate your entire home theater setup and that has a touchpanel where you can view action from surveillance camera. Or maybe you’re looking for a system that can brighten and dim groups of lights to set the mood for a movie or a romantic dinner. Chances are, you’ll find a few suppliers of these products in the Guide.
Products from more than 30 categories will featured in the comprehensive listing, including audio components, loudspeakers, video projectors, whole-house control systems, wireless networking devices, media servers and more. Each listing will include a description and color photo of the product, details on where you can purchase it, and how it’s installed (by a professional or do-it-yourselfer).
