Has Hell frozen over?
Elan announced today that its N800 wireless touch controller is shipping—and it’s early. This isn’t a knock on Elan in particular, but we are so used to electronics manufacturers toying with our fragile emotions. It’s nice to see someone giving back for a change.
This 4-inch handheld features a funky touchscreen with wireless web access, as well as control for Elan and compatible third-party control systems. It’s also got a nifty graphical interface for real-time status and control of entertainment and other home systems.
“We are pleased to be able to get our eagerly awaited N800 controller into the hands of our Dealers earlier than scheduled,” said Bob Farinelli, ELAN’s president CTO. “With stellar color graphics displayed on a high-resolution widescreen display, this tiny handheld controller provides reliable wireless control of all your entertainment, theater, and whole-house systems, plus access to the Internet. The N800 suits every room in the house and is definitely not your father’s clicker.”
The N800 is available now for $1,200.
