DVDO Home Theater Processor Now Upgraded with ISF Modes

I know that some people have trouble accepting this, but TVs and projectors don’t come out of the box ready to look their best. For the best picture, we advocate a full ISF calibration on any high-end theater system. That’s easier to do on some products than others, due to the individual device’s settings and capabilities.

The Imaging Science Foundation today sent out an announcement that DVDO’s iScan Duo, a popular video processor installed in home theaters, can be upgraded to include two additional CMS profiles for ISF Day and ISF Night modes.

Why is this important? It’s important because the picture you experience on your screen is heavily dependent on the ambient light in the room. When a pro installs your projector and goes through the steps to calibrate it in a dark room, and then you and expect to watch a movie at 10AM with the shades open, the whole effect is ruined, and you complain.

That’s why more products are including the option to program in separate day/night modes. In the DVDO iScan Duo, the ISF modes can be locked, so someone won’t accidentally delete the settings your calibrator spent so much time perfecting. Each input can have its own day/night modes. With four CMS profiles, iScan Duo can store up to 40 unique CMS profiles.
