We’ve seen a few wireless streamers. Most of them look like a little black box, but DVDO is making the Air WirelessHD solution a standout.
The Air WirelessHD keeps the funkiness to its design, without creating a wired mess. It has a wireless transmitter, a wireless receiver, and a receiver-mounting clip that attaches to the wall or on top of the TV.
Operating at 60GHz, the Air WirelessHD can stream 1080p video and 7.1 surround sound, for both 2D and 3D. It can also transmit HDMI signals, including those from the Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) protocol.
“More consumers are demanding wireless in the home or office and the DVDO Air is a great way to have the flexibility of a wireless setting while enjoying high-quality, HD video and audio previously only available through a wired connection,” said Joseph Lias of DVDO. “DVDO Air fits right in with our existing line of HD switching, processing and connectivity products and is sold as part of a professional full-service installation through the installer community.”
The Air WirelessHD is available now through authorized distributors and installers for $399.
