For those consumers who still can’t decide between HD DVD and Blu-ray disc for their next-generation high-def DVD viewing and would like to test out both formats, HP is offering both on select desktop PCs beginning tomorrow, May 9.
On the new HP Pavilion Media Center m8010y series and HP Pavilion d4890y series desktop PCs, consumers can get the dual format drive with their configure-to-order models. The new Blu-ray/HD DVD optical drive will include a Blu-ray reader/writer and HD DVD reader.
HP will also offer upgrade options such as a digital cable tuner to aid in recording high-definition premium cable content, graphics card and an Intel Quad-core processor, the company says.
The new HP Pavilion Media Center m8010y series and HP Pavilion d4890y series desktop PCs can be configured with these high-definition functions through www.hpshopping.com.
