For a while we’ve been hearing about new DirecTV’s HD DVR. Now it looks like we’re actually going to see it.
The HR21 PRO can store 100 hours of high-def content in MPEG4, with support for 1080p and optical HDMI. There’s no word on pricing, but Multichannel News says it will be over the $1,000 mark.
If you’re looking for a sneak peek at the unit, Engadget’s got a nice picture. I know nothing says quality to me like scarves blowing behind the equipment.
The HR21 PRO should be available in October, but don’t start dialing your local DirecTV provider. Get the number of your local installer ready—that’s the only way you’re going to get it.
