Satellite customers can expect to see $3-to-$5 extra on monthly bills.

Add DirecTV to the growing list of TV service providers who are increasing rates this year.
The following plans will see a monthly increase of $3 - effective March 4 (according to the satelliteguys):
- Basic ($9.99 - $12.99)
- Select ($45.99 - $48.99)
- Choice ($52.99 - $55.99)
- Plus DVR ($62.99 - $65.99)
- Plus HD-DVR ($72.99 - $75.99)
The Premier service will jump from $104.99 to $109.99 and the fee for DVR service will rise from $5.99 to $6 (yes, one penny).
Cablevision, Charter, Comcast and Mediacom are four cable providers jacking up their prices in 2009, reports Engadget HD.
