The Moxi HD DVR features a 500GB hard drive and CableCard support.
Apparently Moxi still has some life after all. Almost a full year after the company cut its staff and product line, they are showing they aren’t dead yet, with the release of a new HD DVR.
The product has popped up on Amazon, which is taking orders for the company. The Moxi HD DVR combines your TV, your PC, and web access all via the Moxi menu. You can stream photos, video and music to the TV, and even tap into Flickr or Finetune. It also has CableCard support and a 500GB hard drive, which can hold about 75 hours of HD. Another nice bonus is no service fees.
Zatz Not Funny says that the unit is actually a soft launch, which just means they don’t want to get in too deep. For now, a limited number of units will be available.

Tivo has been putting pop up adds all over my tv lately. It sucks! At least moxi has no adds at this time and no monthly fees.
Well as Moxi has only built junk before I would not consider spending any amount of money on this device. My cable operator tried to push a Moxi POS on my and I promptly sent it back for a HD TiVo.
Either their product development team is atrocious or they don’t want to pay royalties to some patented methodology to make a decent cable recording box or DVR.
This product is targeted towards a recession proof market, so it’s price tag makes sense. A soft launch was a good idea, but Digeo should see decent results by Q2’09
Although I would look at other devices instead if I were to buy something, I certainly appreciate the humor in pricing this at… $800. I hope the company does well but I have my doubts.

It’s hard to imagine life without remote controls, but it’s been a long, strange path to the modern incarnation we know and love today.
Ya I had Moxi with Adelphia before and I loved it. I have Tivo now, and honestly I miss Moxi.
