For years, I’ve been meeting with Digeo staff and hearing about their products. They are nice people and even nice products. However, I’ve never met a single person that owns one. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one.
Digeo just announced its plans to kill off upcoming products, including the Multi-Room HD DMR and the Moxi Home Cinema Edition DMR. Sadly, as a result, this will also domino to Diego’s workforce; Twice says the company expects to lay off half the company. Greg Gudorf will also replace exiting CEO Mike Fidler.
Digeo’s flagship product is the Moxi Media Center, which the company says is currently in 420,000 homes.
The company announced partnerships with Flickr, Finetune, Accedo and CloverLeaf at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Those services were to be offered in the new products; there’s no word on whether or not the partnerships will continue or what the future holds for other possible product lines.
