The more speakers the merrier, right? That’s what DesignQ Audio is hoping.
According to CEPro, the company launched quietly last year with 17 products. The plan for 2011 is to rock the market—literally. DesignQ Audio now has plans to release between eight and 10 new speaker models for the year.
Those speakers won’t be available at your local retail store. Instead, DesignQ’s hook is to bring frame-less speakers at affordable prices directly to its 100 U.S. dealers.
Upcoming speaker products will include a freestanding bookshelf speaker, a subwoofer and an on-wall option. The company’s current products are offered under lines titled Home Theater, Xtreme, Evolution, Endurance (outdoor) and Contractor. All feature that frame-less design, except for the Contractor series. In-ceiling models range from 5.25, 6.5 and 8 inches in diameter, with in-walls coming in at 6 and 8 inches. Prices range from $1,400 per pair down to $200 per pair.
