Denon Electronics, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in October, has unveiled a slew of new products, including two 3D-ready Universal Blu-ray players and 10 receivers (click here to view slideshow).
The DBP-2011UDCI ($799, August) and DBP-1611UD ($399, June) Universal Players will receive a firmware upgrade in the fall for 3D playback. Both models will feature Netflix and YouTube streaming and are DLNA 1.5-certified.
Other features include:
-1GB of on-board memory
-Profile 2.0 (BD Live)
-HDMI 1.4a outputs with 3D and CEC capability and 36-Bit Deep Color
The DBP-2011UDCI adds RS-232 port for third-party controllers and the “latest Anchor Bay Technologies decoding Engine and Scalar, as well as all-new Burr-Brown 32-Bit, 192-kHz Audio DACs.”
Denon also says “all Denon players moving forward will be ‘Universal’ and [will] incorporate streaming content partners.”
Each of Denon’s 10 new AVRs will feature HDMI 1.4a, onscreen displays through HDMI, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and some include web browsers and music streaming from Pandora or connected PCs.
New AVRs in the Retail Home Theater Series are the AVR-991 ($999, July), AVR-891 ($799, May), AVR-791 ($499, May), AVR-591 ($349, May) and AVR-391 ($249, July). Denon also added two 7-channel models, the AVR-1911 ($599, June) and AVR-1611 ($399, June), and the AVR-4311CI ($1,999, Sept.), AVR-3311CI ($1,199, June) and AVR-2311CI ($899, June) “CI-Class” receivers.
The CI receivers (from the $899 AVR-2311CI and up) feature a new three-year warranty and Control4 Certification, “ensuring compatibility and smooth integration with all Control4 IP-based home automation and entertainment systems.”
All models, except the AVR-391, feature analog-to-HDMI conversion and HD Audio decoding from Dolby and DTS. Each receiver is compatible with the iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone when used with a Denon dock. All models also have 24-bit/192-kHz Analog Devices DACs, and Audyssey Dynamic Volume, Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Audyssey MultEQ.
The AVR-991 features Anchor Bay Technologies advanced video deinterlacing and upscaling, converting SD sources to HD. And the AVR-1911 and AVR-1611 7-channel receivers offer full two-zone A/V distribution. The AVR-1911 adds a built-in HD Radio tuner and iPod Direct Connectivity via USB.
