Delphi is best known for portable systems—whether it’s in your car or on your person. Now they want to delve into your desktop space.
The company just announced that they will release the Premium Sound System. Catchy name, right? They should have just gone for the gusto and named it “the greatest system you will ever buy.”
Whether or not it’s the be-all-end-all of sound remains to be seen—or heard. However, what makes this unit the cat’s meow (in stereo!) is that the system works with a variety of XM Satellite Radio receivers, so even after you outgrow your current equipment, this unit doesn’t discriminate.
It’s also nice to be able to use that receiver indoors, because I don’t know about you, but there are some days that I really don’t want to leave the house. However, there are usually no days where I don’t feel like listening to satellite radio.
When the Premium Sound System hits shelves, it will work with the Delphi SKYFi3, the Roady XT, the MyFi and Audiovox’s Xpress.

Is the antenna built in? And isn’t this just another of their boom boxes? A couple years ago I searched high and low for some cheap audio system for my XM radio. Now that I have been satisfied with my ancient used $20 phono/radio/cassette with RCA input for a CD player (now XM radio input), I want something a little classier.
Well that would just be too perfect, Ben! Unfortunately, Delphi (currently) is exclusive to XM… maybe someone else could take the idea and run that way with it.
This product would be more usable if it could also be used with Sirrus also.

I think it’s probably a combo boombox, and something a little classier, like the Bose (or similar) system that came out for the iPod. It certainly looks a lot like those anyway.
And yes—the antenna is built in.
