Just because you want to take music on the go doesn’t mean you should have to suffer on the sound quality. Thankfully, a lot of speaker manufacturers have been getting into the portable realm. The latest is Definitive Technology, with its Sound Cylinder.

The Sound Cylinder is the company’s very first Bluetooth speaker. It’s designed to work with tablets and smartphones, allowing users to stream all sorts of audio directly to the speaker. Besides streaming any stored content, the Sound Cylinder is perfect for services like Pandora and Spotify, as well as something like Netflix.

Definitive says that the Sound Cylinder is made to travel, via a clip system that attaches the speaker to most tablets and even many laptops. It also has a built-in pivoting kickstand to hold those tablets at a nice angle for viewing and listening.

Other features on the Sound Cylinder include a built-in side-firing subwoofer, Surround Array image enhancement processing, and the promise of up to 10 hours of playback via the built-in rechargeable battery

The Sound Cylinder will make its official debut at next week’s 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show. Definitive says that the speaker will then be available sometime this month, with an MSRP of $199.
