Mondays are usually slow for me. I’m not a morning person, and it doesn’t help when you stay up too late on Sunday night.
But over the years I’ve found the best way to get going on Monday morning is to jump in head first. I’m doing just that today with three great deals!
Our first two deals come from Best Buy. The first comes in the form of the Sharp Aquos 40E67U, a 40” 1080p LCD with 60 Hz refresh rate, 6ms response time, and 4 HDMI ports. It might not be a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio plasma or locally dimmable LED LCD, but its $599 price should grab your attention away from all those fancy buzz words. Lowest authorized price elsewhere is $717 shipped.
Also from Best Buy is a combo deal on a Pioneer VSX-519V-K AVR and BDP-120 Blu-ray Player for the low, low price of just $299. No, the AVR won’t decode the latest lossless audio codecs like DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD. What it will do is play LPCM over HDMI and the BDP-120 just happens to decode those same codecs, making these two a budget match made in heaven. Lowest authorized prices elsewhere are $179 each, or $368 combined.
Lastly, Buy.com has the Planet Earth Volume 1 Blu-ray and 12-foot Belkin HDMI cable for the combo price of $27.99. You’re already thinking to yourself “Stephen, that’s a really mediocre deal not at all worth reporting to us”, to which I would reply, “Why are you so impatient?!?” If you’d let me finish, there’s also a $20 mail-in rebate (pdf) associated with the Belkin cable, bringing the total price down to a staggering $8.
