Sony’s BDP-S300 Blu-ray player was announced last year with a $600 price tag.
So many of us (including me) have complained about the price of Blu-ray hardware. Well, now it’s time to clam up and start clamoring for your credit card.
According to GeekTonic, Sony’s BDP-S300 Blu-ray player is currently available on Amazon for just $199. The deal also seems to be extended to SonyStyle, the company’s own store.
Just last year, Sony launched the BDP-S300 with a $600 price tag. It’s gotten plenty of nice reviews and seems to have all of the options we love, including Dolby Digital Plus support, 1080p upscaling, and BRAVIA Theatre Sync. However, one thing the unit doesn’t seem to have is an Ethernet port, which means no firmware updates for you. Still, it’s a nice starter player.
You’d better act fast though. Engadget HD had reported about the Samsung BD-P1500 going for the same price at RadioShack (with a rebate). However, now RadioShack page is gone, and the model no longer appears to be on the site at all. We’re guessing they have sold out. Get one on Amazon before they are gone!
